Our YoChons are a combinations of a Registered Yorkshire Terrier and a registered Bichon Frise.

Our Yorki-Poos are a combination of a Registered Yorkshire Terrier and a Registered Toy Poodle. Both the YoChon and the YorkiPoo breed is non-shedding and make wonderful family pets. They are small in size with big personalities; entertaining and sweet are their specialties.

The Bichon Frise

The Bichon is a most appealing little white dog that loves human company. It has an independent spirit, is intelligent, affectionate, bold and lively. This charming, gentle dog is not a yapper. It has a self-assured, happy temperament that is easy to live with. These bright little dogs are easy to train and just plain old love everyone. They need people to be happy. They are naturally sociable and are happiest when they are part of a family that takes them everywhere. This sociable trait also means that they are fine in the company of other dogs & pets and are excellent with children. Used as watchdogs and to perform tricks, this breed is competitive and obedient. Bichon Frise do not shed and therefore are often recommended as a breed for families with allergies.

The Toy Poodle

Identical to the Standard and Miniature Poodle except in height, they are a descendant of the Miniature Poodle. The Toy Poodle is a dainty, sensitive little dog who make perfect pets for a less active person who has time to pamper these natural little clowns and be amused by their quaint antics. Well proportioned and squarely built, the Toy Poodle was bred down from the Miniature Poodle. They are an intelligent breed with a delicate disposition and are very easy to train, the easiest of all the Poodles. Toy Poodles are delightful, good natured, and lively dogs. The Poodle makes an excellent family pet who will adapt to any situation and will try anything an owner wants. Toy Poodles are an efficient choice for the owner who wants an obedient dog. They are affectionate with their family, a little wary with strangers, but still accepting of them. They love to be around family and friends, and get along well with other animals and children. They come in any solid color, and have very curly, thick fur. Not only do they have an winning personality, but their hypoallergenic coat is non-shedding. (as are all my dog breeds) Toy Poodles are bright, perky little dogs. Responsive, alert, sensitive and eager to please describes this breed. The Poodle rates very high as a watch-dog. These dogs are highly alert and will let you know if something unusual is happening. Their Learnng rate is also Very High. Toy Poodles are very intelligent. Obedience - Very High. Problem Solving - Very High. They are extremely intelligent and very obedient. There are not very many breeds that rate this high in everything. This is why the Poodle has been such a popular breed for so many generations. This breed is known to have a very long life span of 15 to 17 years.

About the Yorshire Terrier

The Yorkshire Terrier seems oblivious of its small size. It is ever eager for adventure. This little dog is highly energetic, brave, loyal and clever. Affectionate with its master, but if humans are not this dog's pack leader, it can become suspicious of strangers and aggressive to strange dogs and small animals. It can also become yappy, as the dog does his best to tell you what HE wants YOU to do. It has true terrier heritage which needs someone who understand how to be it's leader. They are recommended for older, considerate children, simply because they are so small, most people allow them to get away with behaviors no dog should display. This changes the dogs temperament, as the dog starts to take over the house. They will become demanding and dependant and need a lot of human attention as they develop jealous behaviors and become snappish if surprised, frightened or over-teased. They can also become over-protective, and become neurotic. Yorkies are easy to train, although they can sometimes be stubborn if owners do not give the dog proper boundaries. They can be difficult to housebreak. The Yorkie is an excellent watchdog. When owners display pack leadership to the Yorkshire Terrier, they are very sweet and loving and can be trusted with children. The problems only arise when owners, because of the dogs cute little size, allow them to take over the house. The human will not even realize it, however know, if you have any of the negative behaviors listed above, it's time to look into your pack leader skills. These are truly sweet little dogs who need owners who understand how to give them gentle leadership. If you own a Yorkie who does not display any of the negative behaviors, high five for being a good pack leader!
