About the Tibetan Terrier
Sweet, gentle and loving, the Tibetan Terrier is lively, mild, and fun, but can be a bit willful. Reserved with strangers, but very dedicated to their owners, they are not happy when left alone. This breed does best with older, considerate children. This is a brave, intelligent, medium-sized dog and is a particularly good watch dog. Its bark is deep like a rising siren. When the Tibetan Terrier is with other dogs it can try to dominate. In the United States, Tibetan Terriers' bloodlines vary in terms of height, coat, and personality. The Tibetan Terrier has great agility as well as endurance.
The Tibetan Terrier evolved over many centuries, surviving in Tibet's extreme climate and difficult terrain. The breed developed a protective double coat, compact size, unique foot construction, and great agility. The Tibetan Terrier served as a steadfast, devoted companion in all of his owner's endeavors.
This is an ancient breed that has contributed to the development of all other Tibetan breeds, from the Shih-Tzu to the Lhasa Apso, including the Tibetan Spaniel. Originally bred by Tibetan monks, it was considered to be "lucky" and dogs were often given as gifts, but never sold. Dr. A.R.H. Grieg given several dogs, the first by a grateful patient, and by the Dalai Lama himself. She later established a Tibetan Terrier kennel in England. In 1956 Dr. Henry and Mrs. Alice Murphy of Great Falls, Virginia, imported the first Tibetan Terriers into the USA and later got them recognized with the AKC. In the United States, the Tibetan Terrier is primarily a pet and companion. This breed is available mostly on the West and East Coast of the United States. Some to the Tibetan Terrier's talents include: being a watchdog, agility and competitive obedience.
General Appearance
The Tibetan Terrier is a medium-sized dog, profusely coated, of powerful build, and square in proportion. A fall of hair covers the eyes and foreface. The well-feathered tail curls up and falls forward over the back. The feet are large, flat, and round in shape producing a snowshoe effect that provides traction. The Tibetan Terrier is well balanced and capable of both strong and efficient movement. The Tibetan Terrier is shown as naturally as possible.

Technical stuff: We do require a $200 deposit to get on a wait list, then a total of one-half down when you pick out your puppy, with the balance due in cash at pickup. If shipping is needed, then puppy plus shipping must be paid when puppy is 7 weeks old. Shipping generally runs around $325.00 including everything***(See note below).
WE DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS! Because of all the money order scams going on, we do accept money orders, but unless they are actual US Postal money orders, they do have a 10 day hold, as that is what my bank requires. Postal money orders can be cashed immediately and will not cause any hold. We also accept PayPal, please email or call for information, as we won’t let someone put down a deposit that we have never talked to, we do charge a 4% PayPal fee to cover the costs. If you are paying with any other type of money order, please be sure payment arrives a minimum of 10 days before shipping date. If picking up your puppy in person, PLEASE BRING CASH FOR FINAL BALANCE.
We do allow people to visit with their puppy after it is 6 weeks old if you live within driving distance. We do NOT allow puppies to go home before they are 8 weeks old. NOTE: Please print two copies of our guarantee, sign them and mail them with your deposit.
***NOTE: The availability of shipping via the airlines is dependant on weather conditions, so please make allowance for delays in shipping during winter weather IF your puppy couldn't fly due to airline's canceling flights from weather or whatever and you become downright disrespectful/nasty... we will ADD our gas fee of $50.00 to your bill before we go back to the airport for a reshipment. The night before shipping we prepare the kennel, your puppy packet, bathing your puppy and making sure all is alright, then often having to get up in the middle of the night and head to the airport spending a minimum of 5 hours on the road. You can imagine our disappointment when we return home with your puppy. This does not always happen but can happen due to sudden weather changes, airplane malfunctions and so forth.
Let us know if you have any other questions, thank you for visiting our site, and Happy Fall to everyone!
All deposits are NON-refundable, but can be transferred to a future puppy.
