LEVEL 1:
The starter program would include: Learning the basic commands you will use in the field (Whoa, Come, Kennel, and Heel). Your pup will learn these commands via voice and whistle! We will start your dog quartering, getting used to gun fire (.22 blanks and shotgun) , bird introduction , holding point and e-collar introduction! If the pup is inclined and has natural retrieving instincts we will also work the retrieve! I do not force fetch a pup till they are least a year old!
LEVEL2:
The advanced program would include reinforcing all the commands from level 1. Moving on to BACKING (honoring the point of another pointing dog), RETRIEVE TO HAND and Tracking !
There are many different thoughts as to when the dog should go for the retrieve. We will steady the dog to suit your preference, wing, shot or fall!
FLUSHING BREEDS
The flushing breed program will be very similar to the pointing breed program, obviously with-out holding on point. The key here is the fact that the flushers need to work with in the gunners range. We work the flushers at approx 25 yards as opposed to the pointers who may range out 40-50 yards!
The initial yard work will start in one our big fenced in yards, once we are confident the dog has learned the here command we will take the training to one of our on site training fields.
Training will be done at our on-site CRP type grass fields (90 acres) and at Quail Run Hunt club just 30 minutes from our facility.
The different environments will expose your dog to the varying terrain they will encounter in the real hunting world.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
Because we custom tailor you’re pups training program, we ask you to call and give us more information about your pup and your hunting objectives for the pup. We will then tailor a program that works for both you and your pup.
TRAIN THE TRAINER
We also offer a one-on-one 'Train the Trainer' program.
I will work with you and your pup regardless of the level or stage of your dog. I can help, whether you are starting out with a new pup, or your current hunting partner needs a tune-up.
Learn the basics to advanced: here, heel, whoa, hup, deadbird, quartering, tracking, honoring (backing) and steady to wing and shot.
